Contact   Jo and Danny's bands   Green Man 2003 - 20011

The Buzz Club was in Surrey and Hampshire and was organised by Jo Bartlett and Danny Hagan (who went on to found The Green Man Festival). The Buzz Club ran from 1985 to 1993. From the C86 days including The June Brides, The Mighty Lemon Drops, That Petrol Emotion, The Chesterfields and The BMX Bandits through to The Happy Mondays, The Stone Roses, The Charlatans, Blur, Primal Scream, The Manic Street Preachers and Suede. The Buzz Club was a pivotal gig for nearly a decade. This blog features live recordings, fliers, posters, photos, memories and music of that era. Jo and Danny have also been in the bands Bluetrain, It's Jo and Danny and The Yellow Moon Band.

The Raw Herbs played The Buzz Club in June 1988. My band Bluetrain had supported them in London at around this time, so we invited them down to play our club. They were lead by Derek Parker a Scot living in London and released records on the wonderful Medium Cool label. When going to see The Raw Herbs at Dingwalls in London a year earlier, it was the support group who blew our minds. But more about The Stone Roses soon….
